1. How did you find out about Mallsoft?
It all started in 2019 when I discovered the vaporwave genre. And then I came across Cat System Corp and guess what?.. I fell in love with this like, oh my god!!! .. this is it! that feeling when I was young and shopping mall .. and then, all the ideas to create mall ambiance were there in an instant.

2. How has Mallsoft changed your life as an artist?
It changed my life in a very drastic way let's say because finally, I had found my musical niche!
I started exploring everything in the genre and then did it the way I wanted to. I have been making music since 1990 as a bass player, guitar and synthesizer. Then around 2000, I started seriously mixing and mastering my stuff. I was in Montreal at this time and around 2005 I came back to my little down and I had taken a long musical break... But since 2019, I have been making music almost every day and my audio skills have increased ridiculously.

3. What kind of things do you love most about Mallsoft music?
It is the mood. Feeling like we are in a big commercial centre with people and of course, music in the far background. It is so relaxing! Then remembering how this background Musak made us want to buy and staying long time hanging around in the mall.

4. What is your favorite form of media to listen to your albums on?
Definitely the vinyl! I have some cassettes too that I love listening to. But the more often I listen on digital.. It is fast, convenient, in the car and I love discovering what is new from bandcamp artists!

5. What is it like going to the Malls in Canada?
Well you know today, for me it is really a pain to get in the mall.. ordinary pop radio music in background, soulless cold decoration and design, people stressed and running everywhere against the time...
However, I keep a very good souvenir of the Place Laurier in Quebec City back to the 80s.. Palms trees, Musak background music, a very huge mall three floors.. Good old days for me! :)

6. If you could go to one mall for the rest of your life, which mall would you go to and who would you want to be there with you?
Ahah it is a good question! ;) Well, I guess it will be at the Place de la Capital still in Quebec City because of its amusement park and Toys R Us store!
And of course, staying for the rest of my life in this huge 2 floor mall will be with my 9 years old daughter.
